After receiving quotes from 6 companies, we went for Peter Barry. Although not the most affordable option, their teams are well organised and promptly responded to our queries. We were happy with the building survey, which was helpful to decide whether we would proceed with the property as we had some concerns. (We eventually did and had the completion recently!) The report is professionally written and you may need to teach yourself if you are uninitiated. The only minus was the report didn't come with any photos of the property. We received some at our request later, but weren't so useful to be fair.

I recently used Peter Barry Surveyors (Matthew Price) to assist me with the valuation of my property and the subsequent lease extension negotiations with my Landlord. Matthew prepared a desk top valuation report using floorplans I already had for my property, which was less expensive than but still very in-depth. Having never been through a lease extension process before he made it so much simpler for me. When I received the Landlord's counter offer which was initially quite high I was a little worried. Matthew was extremely professional and very efficient in keeping me updated. Matthew successfully negotiated with the landlords valuers on my behalf to reduce the lease premium down by over £2,000 on their initial offer. RECENT ACTIVITY IN NORTH LONDON

A loft conversion to a property to the South-East of Whetstone included works falling within the scope of section 2 of The Party Wall etc. Act 1996 including temporary exposure of the party wall at high level and the insertion of structural support to the party wall in the form of steel work. The building owner, unaware of the above until a couple of weeks prior to their start date, was concerned that the process would delay their start date which would have incurred them significant expense and inconvenience.

He contacted us and, having advised both owners that the most efficient and cost effective way to put a party wall award in place quickly would be for a local surveyor to act in the capacity of “Agreed Surveyor”. Matthew Price of Peter Barry was appointed by both owners. Matthew dealt with matters in his usual efficient manner and the awards were served in time for the works to commence uninterrupted. Both owners endorsed our work with positive reviews online citing our professionalism and efficiency.

One of our senior colleagues, Matthew Price, was appointed as the building owners’ surveyor and worked alongside his colleague Katie Merchant on the party wall matters with the proposed works affecting both of the adjoining owners. Party wall notices were served explaining in great detail the extent of the works in order for both adjoining owners to make a clear decision on the information provided.

Both adjoining owners dissented to the notices and appointed Matthew Price as the ‘Agreed Surveyor’. Both properties had Schedule of Condition carried out in order to record the current condition prior to the neighbours’ works commencing. Swiftly after the inspections, the party wall awards were agreed and served on all parties. One of the adjoining owners left a review advised that they “would thoroughly recommend” Peter Barry Surveyors.
