I recently used Peter Barry Surveyors (Matthew Price) to assist me with the valuation of my property and the subsequent lease extension negotiations with my Landlord. Matthew prepared a desk top valuation report using floorplans I already had for my property, which was less expensive than but still very in-depth. Having never been through a lease extension process before he made it so much simpler for me. When I received the Landlord's counter offer which was initially quite high I was a little worried. Matthew was extremely professional and very efficient in keeping me updated. Matthew successfully negotiated with the landlords valuers on my behalf to reduce the lease premium down by over £2,000 on their initial offer. Recent Activity in Mile End E3

One of our Associate Directors, Matthew Price, acted as the adjoining owner’s surveyor on a recent project in Mile End where the building owner had served their own notices under sections 2 and 6 of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. The proposals included works directly affecting the party wall including the removal of chimney breasts and the insertion of steel beams as well as the excavation of foundations relating to a rear extension.

The project was time sensitive as the adjoining owner due to leave the country shortly after receiving the notice. Matthew was able to accommodate by visiting the adjoining owner’s property within a few days of being appointed and managed to agree an Award authorising the works with the neighbour’s surveyor quickly thereafter. This gave the adjoining owner the reassurance of having the process handled competently whilst also accommodating the building owner’s tight timeline.
