After receiving quotes from 6 companies, we went for Peter Barry. Although not the most affordable option, their teams are well organised and promptly responded to our queries. We were happy with the building survey, which was helpful to decide whether we would proceed with the property as we had some concerns. (We eventually did and had the completion recently!) The report is professionally written and you may need to teach yourself if you are uninitiated. The only minus was the report didn't come with any photos of the property. We received some at our request later, but weren't so useful to be fair.

I recently used Peter Barry Surveyors (Matthew Price) to assist me with the valuation of my property and the subsequent lease extension negotiations with my Landlord. Matthew prepared a desk top valuation report using floorplans I already had for my property, which was less expensive than but still very in-depth. Having never been through a lease extension process before he made it so much simpler for me. When I received the Landlord's counter offer which was initially quite high I was a little worried. Matthew was extremely professional and very efficient in keeping me updated. Matthew successfully negotiated with the landlords valuers on my behalf to reduce the lease premium down by over £2,000 on their initial offer. Recent Activity in Sutton SM1, SM2 & SM3

We were instructed to prepare a pre-purchase survey on an end of terrace two-bedroom house in Sutton. Although the house was modern, constructed in built in 1992, the client was particularly keen for the additional reassurance of the Level 3 Building Survey format.

Our surveyor’s inspection included the use of a GoPro camera and pole to assess aspects of the roof that would not otherwise have been visible from the available vantage points, revealing defects with a valley gutter. A number of other issues were identified and reported, with safety implications where appropriate. This included the presence of potential asbestos containing materials, areas of dampness, a defective extractor fan installation, a section of defective staircase and the need to improve fire safety.

The client was pleased with the advice provided, commenting that our surveyor Shaun Blake was very professional and meticulous in his report and that they would not hesitate to recommend us.
